It is written in the CSB Text (Christian Standard Bible) which is an easy, readable, and reliable translation. I often reference this translation when quoting scripture. If you’re not familiar with this text, hop on to your Bible App, eg. You Version, and do a comparative verse selection. You will easily enjoy the clear and comprehensible language of the CSB.
Here is a sample of the text:
Psalm 139 ESV
O Lord, you have searched me and known me!
2 You know when I sit down and when I rise up;
you discern my thoughts from afar.
3 You search out my path and my lying down
and are acquainted with all my ways.
4 Even before a word is on my tongue,
behold, O Lord, you know it altogether.
5 You hem me in, behind and before,
and lay your hand upon me.
6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me;
it is high; I cannot attain it.
Psalm 139 CSB
Lord, you have searched me and known me.
2 You know when I sit down and when I stand up;
you understand my thoughts from far away.
3 You observe my travels and my rest;
you are aware of all my ways.
4 Before a word is on my tongue,
you know all about it, Lord.
5 You have encircled me;
you have placed your hand on me.
6 This wondrous knowledge is beyond me.
It is lofty; I am unable to reach it.

The 312 devotional articles are written by more than one hundred members of the (in)courage community. These devotionals are rooted in real-life experiences and stories. The encouragement it offers is both deeply personal and deeply engaging.
This Bible is perfect for an in-depth Bible Study and/or daily devotional reading. The Bible contains a topical index at the back which will help you when searching for specific themes for your scripture studies.
The journal space featured at the bottom of every page is most helpful for study notes and scripture references. I have used a black fine liner on these pages and there is no bleed-through on the adjacent page.
The book introductions are one of my favorite features. We are introduced to the author, the main characters featured in the book, and a look at the biblical timeline; the Where, What, Who, and How it all fits together in the grander redemptive narrative of the Bible.
The biblical profiles help us connect with the main character and learn more about them. The (in)courage community has grouped these women into one of the 10 themes we find throughout the Bible. I find myself drawn to ‘The Sacred Brave’ theme; which features women like Zipporah, Jael, Hannah and Abigail.

Psalm 119:162 CSB – “I rejoice over your promise like one who finds vast treasure.”
Happy reading and studying,
With love
