Learn Gods Word, Love Gods Word, Live Gods Word

Twenty Twenty One: A Principle

In the season of planting, It’s important to remember this: the degree to which we are willing to sow, is the degree in which we will reap our rewards.

2 Corinthians 9:6 – “The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.”

If we sow sparingly into our life and the lives of others – we will reap sparingly. If we sow plenty, we will reap plenty. It’s the same theory as – ‘what you put in, you will get out.’

A few years ago, God called me to write. So I started a blog. But writers block and lazy writing is a real thing – I often feel uninspired and tired after a day filled with toddler energy. But my dream to write a book won’t come to fruition unless I put in the time, hours and effort. My book won’t write itself. The same goes for all of you – who dare to adventure further than your front door – to those who want to build legacies and leave a mark on the world – you have to start somewhere. You have to start stretching your legs a little and begin planting seeds today, that will reap a bountiful harvest in years to come.

Not someday, but today, I need to start filling my blank page with words.

What are you sowing?

Are you sowing seeds of kindness and hope and love into yourself and others? Are you building with people and the community God has placed around you? Are you working on that dream that God has placed in your heart? Are you sowing bountifully so that you will reap bountifully?

Or does fear trip you up? Does life get in the way?

Paul goes on to write this in the next verse:

2 Corinthians 9:7-8 – “Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency (or all contentment) in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.

God asks us for our lives and our hearts but He can only work with as much as we are willing to give Him. If we give ourselves wholly to the plans He has for us – we will walk fully into the blessings He has for us too. If we give Him half hearted opportunities to use us, we will only receive the little that we are willing to give.

Gods grace carries us when we’re weak. It’s in His strength that we can seize the day and seize the opportunities presented to us to further grow, to further sow and to plant deep roots.

Are you abounding in every good work? If not, maybe a little refocusing is required for the year ahead.

We need to keep moving forward regardless of these covid times. Someone wise once told me that in order to get somewhere – we need to start moving, if we sit still we won’t grow, we need to start creating that forward motion by getting up and walking. So I want to encourage you today – start walking, start walking forward – create that forward motion in your life – and then, I believe that you will hear the voice of the great I AM, leading you in the right direction.

Sometimes faith and obedience requires us to start walking in the midst of the uncertainty of our circumstances, trusting that God will faithfully lead us.

Let’s choose to remain people who maintain world changing, history making mindsets. Every little thing we do makes a difference, somewhere. And when we walk hand in hand with the Holy Spirit – we are making our mark on this world. Gods plans for us are far more than we can ever think or imagine or dream.

So will you begin to dream again?

Have you started yet? Today is a good day to start.

Some thoughts and scriptures to read, write down and pray through:

  • What God-dream do you have bustling inside of you?
  • What forward motion plans can you put in place today?
  • Are you ready for the more that God has for you?
  • Are you willing to walk in obedience to Gods call?
  • What do you have faith for today?
  • What measures could you take today, to grow your faith muscles?
  • Spend some time with God and ask Him to reveal all these things to you.

Hebrews 11:1 – “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.”

Hebrews 11:6 – “And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.”

Ephesians 3:20 – “Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us.”

Jeremiah 29:11 – “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”

Isaiah 30:21 – “And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left.”

John 14:16 (read full chapter) – “And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, (Advocate, or Counselor) to be with you forever.”
