I’ve recently been challenged to write out scripture in full. It’s a powerful tool when we open up our journals and notebooks and write down the word of God instead of just reading it.
Here are three benefits to writing out scripture:
- As we write out scripture we begin to memorize it word for word instead of paraphrasing it.
- It helps us focus on what the writer of the text is saying to us.
- When we write out scripture and date it, we are able to look back at what God has said to us over the course of our week, month, or year.
Here is your weekly challenge:
Use the attached free scripture reading plan for one week. Read a short scripture every day and write it out in your journal.
At the end of the week, summarise what God has been saying to you through the scriptures you have read.
