At the beginning of the year God put these three words on my heart. This has been the theme for my year.
- Believe – Part 1
- Biblical Obedience – Part 2
- Breakthrough – Part 3
John 8:32 NLT
Jesus said to the people who believed (Believe) in him, “You are truly my disciples if you remain faithful to my teachings. (Biblical Obedience). And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” (Breakthrough)
Believe by dictionary definition means to have confidence or faith in something. God calls us to have faith in Him. God calls us to have confidence in Christ and not in our circumstance. If your confidence is placed in your circumstances, you will be riddled with chaos and confusion. But if your confidence is placed in Christ, you will remain calm in every circumstance and your heart will be in a place of content when you find your comfort in Christ.
When I believe in Christ, I begin to saturate my life with His Ways, His Word and His Wisdom.
Gods Word needs to have the highest impact on our lives.
As we saturate ourselves with Gods Word – we will begin to walk in the ways and wisdom of God.
Teach me more about you, how you work and how you move,
so that I can walk onward in your truth
until everything within me brings honor to your name.
Psalm 86: 11 TPT
I love that God gives us biblical truths in His Word to help us through every season in our lives. It’s so important that we dig deep into Gods Word daily. As we begin to dig deep into Gods Word, His Word weaves its way into our hearts and out of that place we begin to walk in His wisdom and His ways.
The ways of God are in their hearts
and they won’t swerve from the paths of steadfast righteousness.
Psalm 37:31
When we understand the ways of God, we can begin to apply the ways of God in our lives. We are then able to see with Kingdom vision, hear with Kingdom discernment and speak with Kingdom authority.
The starting point for acquiring wisdom
is to be consumed with awe as you worship Jehovah-God.
To receive the revelation of the Holy One,[g
you must come to the one who has living-understanding.
Proverbs 9:10 TPT
Most of our thinking is warped by worldliness when we allow our hearts to be influenced by the things that are not of God. When we think in the same way as the world does, we begin to do the same things that the world does. We are only able to make Kingdom decisions in impossible situations when our thinking is influenced by Gods Word. The revelation of Jesus should invade every area of our lives.
What we believe will impact how we live our lives. As we walk in the revelation of Jesus and the Word of God and believe in Gods ways, word and wisdom – we walk out Biblical Obedience.
Biblical obedience is one of the first steps in walking in Gods breakthrough.
But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord,
whose confidence is in him.
They will be like a tree planted by the water
that sends out its roots by the stream.
It does not fear when heat comes;
its leaves are always green.
It has no worries in a year of drought
and never fails to bear fruit.
Jeremiah 17:7-8
